"You Call the Shot!" Independent Distillers Launches Innovative Promotion for Twisted Shotz Brand

Independent Distillers USA, the world's 4th largest producer of RTD's (Ready-to-Drink), has launched an innovative consumer promotion for their Twisted Shotz brand entitled: "You Call the Shot!"

"You Call the Shot!" is a digital competition that allows consumers to create and name the next flavor shot for the Twisted Shotz portfolio.

The contest will reach 1.7 million consumers on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and blogger outreach, as well as through promoted posts to 425,000 devoted Twisted Shotz fans, inviting them to unleash their inner mixologist and compete to have their "shotz" chosen for production and distribution across the U.S. market.

"You Call the Shot!" is designed to engage existing Twisted Shotz drinkers in a unique program, and entice new entrants into this hot category. This approach tips traditional market research on its head and creates exactly what consumers want and will buy. Flavor preferences received during the contest will feed an "innovation pipeline" allowing Twisted Shotz fans to play a part in creating future shotz.

The "survivor type" contest allows consumers to submit fun recipes and naming concepts via a Facebook and web app with the Sweet Sixteen finalists voted on by the fans until only the final four remain. A panel of expert mixologists will then select the winner from those final four competitors. The new shot will go into production this fall and be available to US retailers by March 2017.

INDEPENDENT DISTILLERS ADDS NEW RTD VARIANT

Asahi Group-owned Independent Distillers USA has added a new Washington Apple flavour to its ready-to-drink (RTD) Twisted Shotz line.

As with all Twisted Shotz drinks, Washington Apple is a combination of two liqueurs - in this instance, Sour Apple and Canadian Whisky - presented in a double-chambered shot glass.

The new flavour variant was introduced locally in the Pacific Northwest last year and became the brand's "hottest selling flavour".

Following the launch, Washington Apple was rolled out nationally from March 2016.

Twisted Shotz is available in both 4-pack formats and 15-shot party combinations. The RTD is offered at 20% abv with an SRP of US$4.99-$5.99 per 4-pack.

Independent Distillers, the 4th largest RTD company in the world, has just launched a new flavor in their wildly popular Twisted Shotz line of products called Washington Apple.

When Independent Distillers introduced Washington Apple flavor last year in the Pacific Northwest, it quickly became their hottest selling flavor. Consumers from Seattle to Spokane, from Willapa Bay to Metaline Falls, fell in love with this wildly delicious pre-mixed shot. Independent Distillers USA would like to announce the following organizational changes.

Long-time industry veteran and stalwart, Mr. Bruce Herman is retiring and will be leaving Independent Distillers. Bruce was instrumental in setting up the USA operations, we thank him for his dedication, contribution and efforts in establishing a successful footprint across the United States.

Accordingly, I would like to advise that I have succeeded Bruce in the role of VP Sales and Marketing after my previous role with the business as Division Manager-Southeast. I'm delighted to assume this position during an exciting period with our overall business and brands in general. I will spearhead a new team assembled to optimize this and take the business forward. The following announcements reflect this plan.
